Reliq Health Technologies Inc. (RHT:TSX.V; RQHTF:OTCQB) announced in a news release it debuted a healthcare services product line, iUGO HOME, a complement to its already available iUGO CARE.
IUGO HOME encompasses wearable devices, specifically watches and pendants, along with two-way video communication and geofencing, use of a virtual perimeter for an actual geographic area. It also interfaces with the iUGO platform.
The software, developed "in response to repeated requests from our clients and potential clients," was designed for seniors aging at home or in some type of outside facility—skilling nursing, long term care, hospice or other, CEO Dr. Lisa Crossley said in the release.
The wearables serve as a personal emergency response system. In the case of users at home, the device would alert a call center in emergencies. The call center staff would then communicate live with the individual through two-way audio and video on the watch or pendant to assess him or her and situation, and provide instructions or seek emergency services if needed.
For users in a care facility, they may use the wearable device to communicate with staff from wherever they are on the premises, even the shower or outside, when they need help. Also, the device can alert staff if a resident wearing one falls.
Along with urgent situations, the iUGO HOME watch or pendant can deliver medication reminders. Further, it can track a person's whereabouts via GPS and alert care providers or family members if the he or she leaves a predefined, or geofenced, area.[NLINSERT]
